Xeryia Tartt signs with Stetson University

On Monday, August 12, 2019, Hamady High School Senior Xeryia Tartt held a Press Conference to announce that she will be signing a letter of intent to play basketball at Stetson University, a Division 1 school in Central Florida. Xeryia Tartt sat next to her mother, Killotta Tartt-Wall and Coach Keith Smith as she announced the good news.

Xeryia commented on why she chose Stetson University:" They have been recruiting me for a while. I choose Stetson because they connected with my family. My parents supported me no matter what, I just wanted them to be comfortable with my decision."

The incoming senior Xeryia Tartt, along with the rest of the Lady Hawks, are ready to contend for another State Championship in 2020. Tartt knows what it takes to win. In the 2018-2019 season, Xeryia helped the seventh-ranked Hawks advance to the Class C state championship game, earning all-state honors in the process.

Coach Keith Smith gave his thoughts during today's press conference," It has been a blessing. Xaryia is a coachable player, hard worker, and a good student. She wants to learn and grow, and I love her for that."

Xaryia was also being recruited by the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, South Carolina State, and Oakland University.
